    Hi grimace,

OK, Intrepid with the Buffalo USB Multi-monitor adapter with a DisplayLink Chipset. So the Buffalo amounts to a second video card? And that's why you need a second "Device" section.

So you actually have two separate video cards each with their own monitor. With one video card the default with Wacom is to cover both. Most people want to confine the tablet to one monitor.

I'm definitely out of my depth. It would be nice if someone would rescue us. You may need to post on the Multimedia & Video forum.

I'm not sure, but you may need two instances of X11, both configured for linuxwacom, to do what you want.

    Here's some links:

    Good general one: http://en.gentoo-wiki.com/wiki/HOWTO_Dual_Monitors

Klaus Knopper covers two video adaptors and two monitors: http://www.linuxpromagazine.com/Issu.../(kategorie)/0 and: http://www.linuxpromagazine.com/Issu.../(kategorie)/0 You download the pdf's.

If you figure it out I'd appreciate you filling me in.

Re: HOWTO: Wacom in 8.04 Hardy

Thanks for all the help and suggested reading. I'm actually at a point where I can live with the dual monitor set up that I've currently got running. Having the tablet only on one monitor is not that big a drawback, but the resolution on the 22" would be nice to set properly. For anyone looking to run two monitors with a DisplayLink USB video device, I highly recommend this HOWTO...

I'll post again here if I get any further with my resolution/tablet issues...

    Hi shnurui,

`uname -r` just puts in your current kernel version. You can see this by entering "uname -r" (without the quotes) into a terminal.

Thanks. It actually ran when I replaced that manually, for some reason it wasn't replacing it automatically.

    Hi shnurui,

I've been able to compile and install 0.8.4-2 in Intrepid using: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.p...12#post6546012 Does 0.8.4-2 install on Hardy?

    Hi shnurui,

    Thanks.

Hardy uses 2.6.24 correct? Maybe I should add:
    Code:
    sudo cp ./src/2.6.24/wacom.ko /lib/modules/`uname -r`/kernel/drivers/input/tablet/wacom.ko
for Hardy to my HOW TO?

I'm not sure, I'm a fairly novice, I just noticed that the new wacom was out, 9/18 and before vista decided it din't like my hd, the update made my pressure work in gimp.

I'm just hoping my pascal training will make it like moving from a 4 wheeler to a 2 wheeler:/

    PS,

Where's the wiki for this thing? Last time I tried, I screwed my video thuroughput and had to re-Reinstall, fortuneately, other than the restricted nvidia this is the only thing I tried to install.
