Toshiba Satellite L505
ubuntu 10.10
When CPU reaches 100% the fan starts to run, and will not stop until the computer is put into suspend mode, or restarted/shut down. also about 1/10 of the time i try to suspend the laptop, it will just show white text on the screen and never suspend. The only thing that you can do after this is hold the power button and turn off the computer.
Thanks
1) Ubuntu 10.10 x64
2) Toshiba
3) Satellite C660D-10P
4) ACPI problems ... works fine with Ubuntu 10.04 x64, but refuses to work with Ubuntu 10.10 x64.
A Fix: Disable ACPI support with "acpi=off" at kernel boot parameters, but it deactivates the "FN" keys, too.
1. Ubuntu 10.10
2. Lenovo
3. G530 3000
4. Camera doesn't work. Even if it works, it doesn't work smoothly. Especially camera in Gtalk doesn't work. This is the only hardware problem of ubuntu 10.10 with Lenovo g530 3000.
Note: The video on Gtalk at Gmail works smoothly, when I run ubuntu from a live-cd. However, it doesn't work smoothly when I install ubuntu on my hdd.

WIRELESS
Wireless works when you install the proprietary driver vie the menu.(Connect it with a UTP cable once, and then you're good to go).
In earlier versions this might not work out of the box (i'm talking about 9.xx). Then you will need to use this driver: http://www.broadcom.com/support/802.11/linux_sta.php use the instructions that are provided, and just load the driver on startup.
VIDEO DRIVER
If you don't need any gaming, just use the ubuntu drivers (by mesa). They work just fine with compiz, blender, etc. For more advanced gaming, just install the proprietary drivers, this works just fine. Don't be scared that your splash screen is in a low resolution, that's normal.
OTHER
Haven't found any other problems with this laptop on ubuntu. Though I didn't try HDMI. Dual screens works too, if you plug it in the VGA input.
Toshiba Satellite A665D
Incompatible with Kernel 2.6.35-22-generic (ubuntu 10.10, mint linux) without setting acpi=off at the end of the linux line at boot.

Won't recognise external TV through s-video (only tried on 10.04 and 10.10)
Could be worse
