Try running sudo ifconfig wlan0 up
This tells your OS to turn your default wireless on.

Please open a terminal and do:
    Code:
    lsusb
    lsmod | grep -e rt3 -e rt3
    Post the result.

    Here is your device:
    ID 07d1:3c16 D-Link System
And here is the fix: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1434630

Proofread your file carefully and post back if you get stuck.
