    I had the same problem and did the steps described, but it didn't work.
    I had to change manually file-apps associations editing

    .local/share/applications/mimeapps.list

    and removing rhythmbox...

    I'm aware that thread is inactive since 2007, but I've used the script and had an error with fspot_running:


    so I've changed sub this way:



    sub fspot_running {
