    Turns out it seems the ethernet adapter was at fault.

    lsmod | grep -i via seems to show the driver listed.

    When you say gmail, are you talking about the gtalk plugin in firefox or are you using pidgin or empathy for gtalk?

    I can't say for sure, but i don't think video chat for gtalk is working in...

    Ok, once again, go back to your home directory, open the Downloads folder, once in there, click 'Bookmark' at the top in Nautilus, and then 'add bookmark' and the folder will show up in your Places...

    Ok, you may have deleted your downloads folder, so simply create a new Downloads folder in your home directory, and then open it, and then click add bookmark.
