Been a geek all my life but took the next step to geek hood and got ubuntu. But I cannot fix msql server. I can't get rid of it, or anything. Its so annoying. I have tried all the apt-get -f and everything nothing works. Please help. here is the code that I am getting when I try and fix the bug. oh and I can't report the bug because ubuntu tells me that msql is not a ubuntu package. HELP!!! Thanks all.

i have tried both 32 and 64 bit versions of ubuntu 9.10 and it does not work on either of them. the card works fine on the 42 and 64 bit versions of ubuntu 9.04.

i have the same problem with fedora 11 and 12. the card works fine on fedora 11 32 and 64 bit, but not on fedora 12. (this is not a fedora forum, but i thought i would share this in case it helps in trouble shooting)

i imagine this has to do with the network manager? i looked in /var/log/messages and i see an error about card initialized, but the drive is unable to load.

But it will only do 1 file at a time, and isn't very flexible.

What I would really like is someone who is good at scripting to take a look at it, and rework it so that I can do this:

DroidEncTest.sh /inputDir/* *.mp4
That way I can drop all my vids into 1 directory, and convert them as a batch. Or even set this up as a cron command so that it will check my default dir nightly & convert.

The output dir will be 'hard coded' into the script. actually, it is. If you want, you can hard code the input dir too. I'm ok with that.

Anyway, ANY help is appreciated. Right now I'm having to manually run this script for each file, and that's kinda a pain.

Then a update came on saying a newer version of ubuntu is out, so i downloaded it, that went good too. then I started anding some stuff, then I wanted to go on youtube but the video was choppy and the sound wasn't syncing with the video, so I install somethings in sound and video, java (all of it?) mp3 web player, but it still didn't work so I gave up, It work well in totem(sp?) so I shut down the computer. And now I boot it up and I'm stuck at the start screen , it looks high contrast pic and the logo is purple, green, and black at the bottom it has this green bar at the bottom too, the top has like some kind of symbols,, idk, i tried using the live cd to fix it but it doesn't show the boot screen.

Please help i have my stuff in there i really need it. what can I do? help me.

So......... I thought,why not try an old favorite from the past?,so I downloaded a copy of the new PClinuxOS and installed it,after re-familiarizing myself with it,I have no problems at all with flash playing Utube and other flash apps,also Compiz set itself up after installing it! everything works great.
I had to install my Nvidia drivers from Synaptic (no problem) and it works nice too. Everything else looks exactly like Ubuntu,it even uses APT-GET , get the Gnome edition if you plan to try it.
PClinuxOS is very stable and problem free.and all the add-ons like VLC,Thunderbird,BleachBit.and others are allready installed in PClinuxOS,it also has the new Firefox version just like Ubuntu,actually it looks just like Ubuntu only it works!
Burn stuff you want to keep from your home directory and your Thunderbird and Firefox stuff to a CD and you can just import them into your new installation,you wont know you switched!
Not trying to make anyone here mad,just finding something that works! when Ubuntu gets the bugs killed,maybe I will try it again,maybe.
And I also tried Kubuntu and it was a total loss! looked and acted more like Micro$oft and was unstable on my computer.

The fonts are too much big and the size of menus too...
When I go to "Preferences > Display" it tells me
"It appears that you graphic drivers does not support the necessary extensions to use this tool. Do you want to use your graphics vendor´s tool instead?"

If I click yes it sends me to NVIDIA X Server settings. But here I cant modificate the aspect of my screen like font size etc...
If I click No I go to Display preferences and it shows me "Unknown" monitor and gives me a setting as 1280x800 50hz (different from the X server config)... And it seems to not detect any monitor

I know that is working fine but the aspect of the screen is not the way I´d like to be.
I´m a newbie in linux... I don´t speak English as well as I´d like...
How can I set my display in a better configuration so it gives me smaller fonts and frames? Something is wrong and I dont know what is.
